Bernard Kane - violist and composer

Composer-in-Residence with the Cardiff Sinfonietta, Welsh born violist and composer, Bernard Kane has performed and recorded with the likes of:
Quincy Jones, Arvell Shaw (Louis Armstrong All Stars), McAlmont and Butler, Lorna Luft, Roger Daltry,
Natalie Cole, Ricky Martin, The Proclaimers,
Manic Street Preachers, Karl Jenkins,
Julian Lloyd Webber, and Michael Sheen.
Bernard has received commisions to compose works for: The New York International Music Festival, Carnegie Hall, the Royal National Theatre, The Queen Elizabeth Hall, The Welsh Proms, and the Iris Prize Festival.
Bernard was commissioned by Owain Arwel Hughes to compose an Overture to Mr Dahl. The work was premiered by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Last night of the Welsh Proms, Cardiff on July 23rd, 2016.
After being commissioned to compose a concerto for virtuoso euphonium player, David Childs - the premiere of which occurred on April 11th, 2017 at
Carnegie Hall, New York City - Bernard is currently working on composing a trombone concerto for the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra's principal trombonist, Matthew Gee.
